98.5 KTK , News/Talk 97.3 THE SKY, ESPN Radio 850/900 Country 1037-TheGator and Gainesville Eye Physicians and Optical at Tioga are proud to announce the 2012 Radiothon For Kids benefiting Children's Miracle Network.
It happens every day. Children are battling diseases or overcoming injuries. It may begin with a seemingly benign cough, a headache,an accidental injury, a sudden car accident, or campfire. What ever the cause, whenever it happens, Shands Children's Hospital at the University of Florida is here to help patients from every county in Florida, 46 other states and 8 foreign countries. Radiothon pledges are used in ways that directly affect the children and their families through programs like: Child Life programs, Arts in Medicine, Life-Saving Equipment Purchases and Prevention Programs through the Safe Kids North Central Florida. Other Radiothon dollars are used to improve facilities. And still more are used for research in the areas of pediatric cancer, genetics, neonatology, and cardiology.
This year, we're raising funds in an entirely new way. We've got 6 Miracle Teams, each of whom has between now and Radiothon to raise money for kids at Shands. You can join a team, or start your own team, or just make a donation any time between now and September 18th, 2012. Your generous donations directly fund pediatric research, pediatric programs and the most immediate needs of Shands Hospital for Children at UF.
